Explore our wide selection of affordable driftwood and affordable aquatic plants, perfect for your aquascaping needs.
At CG Aquariums, we strive to deliver high-quality aquatic plants and affordable driftwood at prices that won't break the bank. We believe that aquascaping should be driven by your imagination, not limited by costs, whether you're looking for affordable yet well maintained aquatic plants or wish to spice up your hardscape with some unique driftwood.
This vase aquarium was designed and built by CG Aquariums as a compact, standalone planted tank. Set on a Fluval Stratum substrate with a fine sand cap, the hardscape centers around a piece of cholla wood, creating natural texture and a focal point in a small glass footprint.
The planted layout includes Anubias nana petite, parrot's feather, and dwarf hairgrass — a mix of low-maintenance plants suited to nano and no-filter setups. The finished vase is stocked with a small school of Least Killifish (Heterandria formosa), one of the smallest livebearing fish in the world, making them a natural fit for this kind of miniature aquascape.
This 5-gallon aquarium kit (PetSmart starter kit) was transformed into a fully planted nano aquascape by CG Aquariums. Built on a Fluval Stratum substrate for healthy root growth, the hardscape features black spiderwood and elephant stone to create natural depth and structure in a small footprint.
The planted layout includes Anubias nana, Ludwigia white, dwarf Vallisneria (nana Vallisneria), and hairgrass — a mix of easy-care foreground, midground, and background plants that make this a great low-maintenance option for beginner and intermediate aquarists alike.

This 10-gallon custom aquarium was designed and built by CG Aquariums for a National Service Officer with the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Housed in a rimless AquaZen 10-gallon tank, the aquascape sits on a Fluval Stratum substrate capped with sand, with Seiryu stone and spiderwood forming the hardscape for a natural, layered look.
The planted layout is lush and varied, featuring Monte Carlo, dwarf Vallisneria (nana Vallisneria), Anubias nana, Java fern, Samolus red, hairgrass, curly lucky bamboo, and subwassertang — a mix of foreground carpeting plants, midground texture, and background height for a full, established aquascape feel. Lighting is handled by a 12-inch Hygger LED, while filtration comes from an AquaMiracle UV aquarium filter with a built-in timer for consistent water clarity.
